THANK YOU SO MUCH to Árstíðir again.

Viele gute, nachvollziehbare Gründe, unzähliges Vertrösten, vergebliches Warten, diverse Hoffnungsschimmer und Konzerte später.Ja, es ist vollbracht. Noch habe ich zwar die Studioversion nicht, aber: der liebe Sebastian hat mir die Performance mit seinem Handy aufgenommen – damit ich in Ruhe genießen konnte. Und zugeschickt hat er es mir dann auch noch. 🙂 Hier ist nun: genau zwei Jahre später: WHEN THE TIDES ARE STRONG!

Ulla Keienburg s Blog

They sing, they string, play piano, and pick guitars.

I first thought about a backing. No big deal. I did it. The reward would be T-Shirt, etc.

Last night I changed my mind – and my pledge.

Their „appreciation“ of my „backing“: „We´ll write and record a song for you on a subject of your choosing.“

It is so much more worth having „my“ song, customized – only for me.

For me: Better than any kind of „thing“ I could buy or wear or show or use.

That is so „Ulla“ – that I couldn`t resist. 🙂

Their third album is in the making and they need (y)our help to finish it!

Parallel Landscapes by Mark Citret #kickstarter

One of my favorite teachers – role model – whatever – is going to produce his „… most important project, I ever made!“ That`s how Mark Citret himself describes (t)his work. Curious? Mark Citret wrote about the project:

„The Landscape I’d always dreamed of

The book that I am asking for your help in financing, entitled Parallel Landscapes, is a collection of photographs of a massive construction site in the southwest corner of San Francisco taken from 1990 to 1993. To be specific, 47 photographs, distilled down from the over one hundred finished pieces this project generated. It’s my personal feeling that these photographs constitute the finest body of work I’ve produced in my more than 50 years as a photographer.

All of the photographs for this book were made with a 4×5 view camera with a variety of lenses, on Kodak T-Max 100 film, developed in Agfa Rodinal and carefully printed in the darkroom. Read more…

Brooklyn Neighborhood Guide – Kickstarter

Lala Jackson schreibt: „Ina Bohse is working on a really cool German guidebook for Brooklyn – it’s all about showing and sharing the real heart of Brooklyn so that German tourists can visit and spend their money in local shops and restaurants, rather than just go to the few touristy, overdone places. Their kickstarter ends next week and they are ALMOST to their goal but still need some support. Take a look! „

Ich selbst habe mich entschieden, so viel Geld in die Hand zu nehmen, dass mein Name im Buch steht. 🙂 Dazu brauchte es nicht mehr als 30 €. Freue mich schon riesig auf das Exemplar. Kickstarter gibt Ina und Anne haben noch fünf Tage Zeit.

Vielleicht kann sich von meinen vielen treuen Lesern noch jemand begeistern- weil sie oder er einen Reiseführer für Brooklyn braucht, ein Geschenk sucht, oder sich selbst was Gutes tun will – oder weil einfach jemand den Beiden dabei helfen mag, ihren Traum zu verwirklichen.

Dieses Projekt wird nur finanziert, wenn bis Do, 15. Okt 2015 10:08 CEST mindestens 7.500 € zusammenkommen.

Es fehlen aktuell nur noch 326 €. Das sollte doch zu schaffen sein, oder?

Wer die Brooklyn Bridge bis zum Ende durchläuft und nicht kurz vorher kehrt macht, dem eröffnet sich eine andere Seite der Millionenstadt: mindestens genauso vielfältig, aber weniger hektisch, dafür ruhiger, grüner und heller, kulturell divers, kulinarisch unvergleichlich, kreativ und inspirierend.
